"Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things."
The repetition of her name struck me when I read it this time. It's like Jesus lets out a sigh as he watches her bustling about. But I sense love and compassion as he speaks her name.
I can certainly relate to Martha: "I'll be right there Jesus, I just quick need to switch the laundry, and refill the toilet paper, and last night's dinner is still stuck to the pan. Oh great, there's that bill I keep forgetting to pay . . . "
Rachel, Rachel . . . sigh.
